The North Face Recon is one of the staple backpacks seen on school campuses around the country and with good reason. The fact that you see the same design selling year after year is a testament to how well thought-out it is. With it’s large capacity, ergonomics, and durable construction, the Recon makes an excellent city bag, particularly if you commute by bicycle. NOTE: Sorry that the video cut out early. I tried uploading several times and it still stops at the same spot. I just wanted to mention that the clasp on the sternum strap also has an integral whistle. A nice little feature that I wish all backpacks had. The North Face Recon features: – 2015 in³ (33 liters) Capacity – 9x13x8 (48 cm x 34.5 cm x 20 cm) – 2 lbs 2 oz (965 g) – Composed of 420D nylon and 1680D Ballistics – Airmesh back panel – Dual stretch side water bottle pockets – Large front mesh drop pocket – Large main compartment with padded laptop sleeve (fits up to 15 laptops) – Hydration compatible – Reflective hits – Small stash pocket with water-resistant zip – Stretch-woven accessory pocket on shoulder strap – Safe-T whistle on sternum strap – Waist Belt (Can be stowed away!!!) (NOT IN THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE RECON) – MSRP: 0.00, available at various retailers for approx. -90 Things I would change: – Use an elastic opening for the side mesh pockets instead of a bungee cord drawstring – Add zippers to the interior pockets for better item separation NOTE: If you’re looking for the original

This design is very similar to other 1850-cubic-inch backpacks made by The North Face, but the Recon offers a large front mesh pocket that easily expands to accommodate a cycling helmet, making it a superb choice for recreational riders and daily commuters. This backpack also has BackSaver Technology to potentially reduce lower back strain between classes and extended rides. The North Face developed their BackSaver Technology by angling the bottom of the Recon pack to shift the pack weight closer to your back, making this daypack ideal for moderate loads with a large hydration bladder or big campus projects involving a stack of reference material. Like other day packs from The North Face, the Recon offers superior construction with 840-denier Hypalon® reinforcements built to last through an entire academic career and countless trips back

dude ur dumb about the hit u gave the bottle mesh pocket. it’s better than if it was just elastic because you can adjust it really tight so its closed if you don’t put a bottle in there but like something else that would fit and you don’t want it to fall out. if you wanted to put a bottle in there u could just adjust it to fit the bottle then leave it and everytime u want to put ur bottle in it will function just as an elastic one would…

Was the sceat pocket

The one that u put ur hand in th

an people said recon sucked….its da shit now

Nice review, and really nice bag too! I’m looking for a backpack which can carry my laptop and camera and still have space for more. This one seemed very nice, but sadly here in my locality, I don’t have much options. I’m thinking of buying one online.
Just one suggestion, include prices in your reviews, it will make them even more helpful for budget constrained buyers, like me!

@jcjx91
Yup,
just give them a call.
The contact info is in the details section underneath the video.
Tell’em I said HI:)

Hey Norm! Does Young’s Backpacking still sell this exact model(which like you said is the original) or are they out now and selling the newer models of the recon?

What a great review. Thanks for sharing.

I just bought a new one and the waist belt CAN be packed away just like the one in the film.

I just bought a new one and the waist belt CAN be packed away.

how does this bag fair in the rain?

how does it fair in the rain?

U need a new north face man

your reviews are so useful! thank you. could you please review The North Face Spire 40? :D

DUUDE, they changed it, im brand new to northface, but i noticed the new recon on the site is different

@soxpats8 there is a whistle on the female part of the chest strap.

what was the thing at the end that got cut off? good review btw

thanks for the great review- very helpful!

I think about buying this backpack for school.. i got a 15,5″ laptop and i’m not sure if it can fit in.. would you be kind and send the length/wide of the laptoproom? so i can figure out whether it can get in or not :)

@KiiNgofTheCastle yeah?

TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE.

@nimrod74741 ur a weirdo

Can you review The North face Vault? And compare it to other things? For a size comparison.

You have the hottest sounding voice!

Hey there the North Face Surge is also a very popular backpack, any chance you will review that too?

that bag is fake
jus saying??

North Face backpacks last you forever. And it is totally worth it. I’ve had mine for five years, and i’m still using it. I’ve used it for hiking, school, etc. It’s just that good of a back pack. The only thing I have a problem is with the new models, the straps look really cheesy and it seems that the material looks kinda…weird. Best thing of all, is that it has a LIFETIME Warranty, therefore you can go to a NF store and what ever problems you have, they’ll fix it and send it back to you =]

does anyone know where i can purchase this backpack on internet? not the newer model

That backpack looks ugly i just bought the big shop

@andyandnick werd up

PLEASE ANYONE who knows how to get the colorful recon backpack Please tell me!!

@Thetiaz5 hot shot is best, durable, simple and fits everything i need.

if anybody wants a jansport kaweah, check out my channel!!!!

My first North Face back pack was a RECON now i got a HOT SHOT

I prefer the yavapai to the recon.

the only thing i dont like about northface backpacks is that on the inside, there are pockets without zippers on them. even though they are nicely divided, stuff will fall out of their pockets easily.

You can go to scheels or dicks sporting goods.

the quality of a northface backpack is matched to that of a walmart bag

your not paying for the name its the quality your paying for

you must be the idiot cuz all the ppl in nyc have north face bags recon is the shit

i know its a good backpack but any other regular bookbag wudve done and also its kind of true in general for other northface stuff, people just buy them for the label “the north face”.

northface in berkeley CA

its a good backpack its not stupid.

thats so true

can anyone tell me why paying extra money for the name the north face isnt stupid

yup, it hold approximatley 6 dildos, 4 vibrators, and many, many packets of anal lubrciation.
absolutely necessary when I go to my “gay convention”.

Lol…@ willfaz07 you dont? oh yeah you wear it to go to your gay convention.
